Liper tungetræner

"The Liper^TM device was developed in Israel, in collaboration with the Tel Aviv Souraski Ichilov medical centre.
Dr. Eyal Botzer, Who developed the Liper^TM device is the head of the hospital’s Paediatric Dentistry clinic. It is a clinic that has a vast experience in treating Ankyloglossia (over 25,000 cases).
The team in the clinic felt they needed a tool to improve parental compliance with the post procedure care they recommend. The product was launched last February.

The field of TOT is still lacking sufficient scientific research and There is no current valid research regarding tongue exercising or post procedure care, however many members of the Ankyloglossia care teams world wide feel such care is necessary. 
 

An internal survey with 50 tongue tied babies was done within the clinic of the Tel Aviv Souraski Ichilov medical centre. 

The findings were:

1. We had better compliance of parents performing tongue exercises after frenotomy. 
2. Parents said they found it easier to perform the exercises with the Liper device in comparison to doing it with their finger. 
3. When parents performed the exercises after frenotomy we saw less cases of unwanted re-adhesion of the frenulum. 
4. We also had some boarder line cases where it wasn’t certain that performing a frenotomy was necessary. In these cases parents were told to exercise with the Liper device for a few days. Our internal survey showed that about half of those that were questionable at the initial visit and used the Liper device for about a week managed to improve their breastfeeding skills so no surgery was indicated. 

These things are difficult to measure scientifically for various reasons.
 

After the LiperTM device was introduced to the market, we received very good responses from SLPs, OTs and Myofunctional therapist who saw the LiperTM device through their colleagues and found it useful in their work where ever exercising tongue motion is required, for all ages."
